Connections hosted our 2nd Annual Transition Resource Fair in February. We were thrilled to welcome returning agencies and friends and excited to meet new one's including DuPage Valley Special Athletes; the Illinois Assistive Technology Program; the Law Office of Maria V. Vasos, LLC; Marianjoy Driver Rehabilitation Center; and the VIP Service Dog Foundation (who to our delight brought along a few canine companions), to name a few. We enjoyed learning about the available agencies and resources that students and families have the opportunity to access within adult services in Illinois. Another very exciting addition this year was our wonderful vendors. Words cannot express how honored and privileged we were to showcase (and shop!) former and current student microbusinesses including Big Bead Jewelry, Liam's Lotions and Potions, Logs by Lou, and microConnections. We are so proud of our young adults and marvel at the ways they channel their ideas and creativity into their microbusinesses. Please take a minute to click on the links, take a look at these amazing microbusinesses, and learn more about the students and families behind the products (you can find Liam's Lotions and Potions and information about DuPage Valley Special Athletes on Facebook). Of course, our very own Snack Shack was open and ready with coffee, water, Gatorade, and snacks.
